
Education:
The Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising (ATM) program at Central Washington University (CWU) has been instrumental in my education and preparation for a career in the fashion industry. Through this program, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry, including its history, current trends, and future developments. The program has equipped me with technical skills such as pattern making, garment construction, and textile selection, which are essential in the fashion industry. Additionally, the program has taught me about the business side of fashion, including marketing, sales, and retail management.
Courses taken at CWU that are relevant to the fashion industry include: Digital Presentations, Intro To Fashion Industry, Business Computer Skills, Basic Sewing Techniques, Advanced Sewing Techniques, Socio-Cultural Aspects of Apparel, Internship Planning, History Of Fashion, Advanced Fashion Design, Style Principes Body To Store, Consumer Textiles, Apparel Manufacturing, Buying Merchandising & Planning.These courses have provided me with a strong foundation in fashion design, production, marketing, and sales.


Internship Experience:
Internship Location: Victoria’s Bridal Couture, Seattle, WA
During my internship at Victoria’s Bridal Couture, I worked as a seamstress and worked on dress alterations and prep. I did a lot of sewing, ironing and organizing. I learned about the bridal industry and more technical sewing skills. I grew my knowledge of certain fabrics and formal dress details such as bustles.
