ABOUT ME
Education
I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at Central Washington University, majoring in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising. I chose to attend CWU because it was affordable and not too far from home, but it was far enough for me to live independently and develop some independence away from my family. I have always wanted to go into a fashion major to learn more about the industry, and I have always been interested in fashion. I have always wanted to be working in the fashion industry one day.
Strengths
My time at CWU has taught me that my strengths are being creative and working well with others, and I can easily find common ground with people of many different backgrounds and identities. I am an excellent active listener and a team player; I create plans and set goals that I always accomplish. I always want to make good quality work and try to be creative in whatever I am working on. I constantly learn new skills and knowledge to improve myself and my work.
Values
I grew up with solid values my family instilled in me that I will keep for the rest of my life. I value time, my own time, and others' time. I try never to waste it. I appreciate my family, friends, and support systems because we can always count on each other for help and support when needed. I value my education because it is a powerful tool to be successful and help others, which I am fortunate to have. I always stay humble and do my best; I always want to be better and become the best version of myself, not just for me but for my loved ones.
Technical knowledge
During these few years at CWU, I was lucky enough to learn the technical skills needed to be successful in the industry, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign, from the Digital Presentation Techniques class. Acquiring these skills helped me be more creative and much more prepared for the industry. I also took a Business Computer Skills class, where I learned more computer-based skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. These skills are not limited to just one industry but can be used in many different industries. It gives me even more of a competitive edge.
